Je suis rentrée pour la première fois dans un labo de recherche lors de mon stage de M1: je ne savais pas pipetter ni utiliser aucun des appareils. 2 ans après, j'étais autonome techniquement et capable d'encadrer des stagiaires en licence et en master. A la fin de mon doctorat, j'ai été capable d'assurer des cours très complexes de Sciences de La Vie à une centaine de lycéens, même si certains sujets étaient en dehors de mon expertise (réchauffement climatique, géologie). Je suis ainsi constamment à la recherche de m'améliorer, de développer de nouvelles compétences et d'approfondir celles que j'ai déjà obtenues - ce qui inclue aller rechercher de l'aide, demander des conseils et s'investir dans des nouvelles formations.

Mon parcours scientifique me permet d'avoir un esprit critique assez développé et de tout questionner humblement : surtout lorsqu'il ne s'agit pas de mon domaine d'expertise. J'ai confiance en mes connaissances mais j'admets la possibilité d'avoir tord donc je suis toujours prête à (re)vérifier les hypothèses/concepts. Je sais cependant défendre les concepts/résultats/hypothèses/idées en les exposant à un public critique, ceci grâce à tous les exercices faits pendant mon master et ma thèse : les réunions d'équipe, les conférences au sein de l'institut, des conférences internationales, les comités de suivi individuel de thèse et enfin ma soutenance de thèse. J'évalue constamment mon progrès, son impact et ses failles.

Mon doctorat m'a amené à gérer plusieurs projets en parallèle: de l'état de l'art à la planification d'expériences, l'interprétation et représentation des résultats, en passant par la gestion du temps, l'hiérarchisation/priorisation tout en gardant une vision à long terme. Lors que j'ai eu plus de responsabilités et j'ai dû me concentrer sur un seul projet afin de respecter la deadline, j'ai appris à déléguer des tâches à mes stagiaires en prenant en compte également l'impact que cela aurait sur leurs projets et vies personnelles. Ces compétences sont également approfondies en tant que bénévole sportive, où parfois l'inertie de groupe nous force à prendre et assumer des décisions difficiles ou impopulaires pour les autres.

J'ai ainsi appris à garder le calme et le sang froid, à être capable de prendre du recul et à re-analyser la nouvelle situation. Mon esprit critique et ma débrouillardise me rendent capable d'analyser les solutions possibles tant à court comme à long terme et à chercher les causes afin d'éviter que cela se répète. Mes engagements personnels pour la planète et pour un monde plus juste me rendent très à l'aise avec les changements et je suis ainsi capable de garder mon optimisme et une forte capacité à relativiser.

Mon doctorat m'a amené à gérer plusieurs projets en parallèle: de l'état de l'art à la planification d'expériences, l'interprétation et représentation des résultats, en passant par la gestion du temps, l'hiérarchisation/priorisation tout en gardant une vision à long terme. Lors que j'ai eu plus de responsabilités et j'ai dû me concentrer sur un seul projet afin de respecter la deadline, j'ai appris à déléguer des tâches à mes stagiaires en prenant en compte également l'impact que cela aurait sur leurs projets et vies personnelles. Ces compétences sont également approfondies en tant que bénévole sportive, où parfois l'inertie de groupe nous force à prendre et assumer des décisions difficiles ou impopulaires pour les autres.

Que ce soit pendant mon doctorat, pendant mes expériences de bénévolat, pendant mes jobs d'été ou pendant mes expériences personnelles, j'ai toujours été confrontée à des changements, souvents abruptes et radicaux. J'ai ainsi appris à garder le calme et le sang froid, à être capable de prendre du recul et à re-analyser la nouvelle situation. Mon esprit critique et ma débrouillardise me rendent capable d'analyser les solutions possibles tant à court comme à long terme et à chercher les causes afin d'éviter que cela se répète. Mes engagements personnels pour la planète et pour un monde plus juste me rendent très à l'aise avec les changements et je suis ainsi capable de garder mon optimisme et une forte capacité à relativiser.
